Summer Grill Preparations:<\/h2>\n

If your grill has been covered during the winter months, it’s a good idea to perform the following items to prepare your grill for spring and summer grilling seasons.<\/p>\n

CHECK FOR GAS LEAKS.<\/h4>\n

The trade-off for gas grills\u2019 swankier appeal is that maintaining them and keeping them safe requires some extra attention. To make sure your gas grill hasn\u2019t sprung a dangerous leak and that everything\u2019s working properly before you get grilling, brush your gas lines with soapy water and check for bubbles\u2014which indicate a crack\u2014when the gas is running. If you spot any, tighten your connection or replace the line.<\/p>\n

MAKE YOUR OWN CLEANING SOLUTION.<\/h4>\n

Mix one part water and one part distilled white vinegar in a spray bottle and go to town on your grill\u2019s interior. Replace the lid, let the solution soak in for an hour or so, and cooked-on residue and gunk should be broken up enough to easily wipe off when you\u2019re done.   After a thorough cleaning, coat the grates with vegetable oil. If you put them in the oven at 450 degrees for a couple of hours you can \u201ccure\u201d them and ready them for reuse.<\/p>\n

Regardless of type of grill you have, always refer to your owner\u2019s manual before cleaning. If you\u2019ve been diligent and kept your grill up all these years and the manual is nowhere to be found, you can access most brands with a quick Google search.<\/p>\n

HAVE YOUR PROPANE CYLINDER REFILLED<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Take your propane cylinder for inspection and refill.   One of the last things you want to happen while grilling is for your tank to run out of propane.<\/p>\n
